Uganda elected to Africa’s Standards Management Committee

UNBS Standards Development Manager, David Eboku, has been elected by the African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) to the Standards Management Committee (SMC).

The African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO), formed in 1977, is mandated to harmonize African standards, Conformity Assessment & Procedures to reduce technical barriers to trade and promote Intra African and International Trade as well as enhance the industrialization of Africa.

Therefore, the Standards Management Committee (SMC) comprising of UNBS’ Mr. Eboku and five other members from different African countries will be responsible for managing the implementation of procedures, due process and standards harmonization programmes for timely execution in Africa.
