20 UNBS staff graduate after prosecution course at LDC

20 staff of the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) graduated on Friday after a month-long prosecution training at the Law Development Center (LDC) in Kampala. During the tailored prosecution course, staff from the Surveillance, Legal Metrology and Imports Inspection departments underwent basic training in handling exhibits, proper protection of the chain of evidence, how to interview suspects, collection of right information that is admissible in courts of law, rights of suspects, classification of courts, and many more.

The World Is Flat In Standardization

Arguably, one of the most influential popular writers on the nature of globalisation is Thomas Friedman, New York Times foreign affairs columnist. His best seller, The World Is Flat, makes for an interesting read and a point of discussion. I agree with Friedman’s assessment that the world is flat. According to Friedman, a “flat world” means that there is now a level global playing field, where all competitors have an equal opportunity.
