UNBS to start mobile verification of outdoor measuring equipment

The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) is set to start mobile verification of outdoor measuring equipment such as railway wagons/tankers, static tanks, underground tanks at filling stations, high speed flow meters, Deports and Aviation meters among others. This follows receipt of a new mobile prover unit; the largest in the region, which consists of a mobile 5000 litre prover tank, a mobile platform (rig) and a skid. READ MORE HERE

UNBS to get new National Metrology Laboratory

Construction work for a state of the art National Metrology Laboratory has commenced at Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS). This was revealed by the Ag. Executive Director UNBS Mr. David Ebiru during the site handover for the construction of a state of the art National Metrology Laboratory in Bweyogerere recently. READ MORE HERE

Surveillance Wrap: UNBS reiterates call against sell of cosmetics banned in Uganda

The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) reiterates its call against sell of cosmetics banned in Uganda. This follows routine inspections done by the UNBS officials from the market surveillance department who unearthed the sale of cosmetics containing Hydroquinone in different parts of Uganda. Five UNBS employees retire, celebrated

The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has celebrated five of its employees that have retired from active service this year. These include; Dr. Abdul Ndifuna who served as a Principal Certification Officer, Dr. Mark Kayongo who served as the Principal Accountant, Mr. Kayhul David who served as a Senior Standards Officer, Mr. John Okumu and Mr. Dentons Kaviiri who served as a Senior Analysts.
