Approval of Draft harmonised standards
The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) Executive Director and Head of Ugandan Delegation, Mr. David Livingstone Ebiru, attended the 25th East African Standards Committee (EASC) Meeting in Arusha to approve Harmonized Standards for adoption by Member States.
The development is aimed at facilitating free trade of goods that have been certified against these harmonized standards. The Meeting also discussed issues relating to Conformity Assessment, Metrology, Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) and CODEX (Food Safety).
